North Africa led with 11% growth, driven by high interest in Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria—destinations celebrated for their rich history and iconic landmarks.

Sub-Saharan Africa followed closely with 10% growth, boosted by strong demand for Kenya’s and Tanzania’s safari circuits, South Africa’s cultural and adventure attractions, and the beach destinations of Mauritius and Seychelles.

The tourism boom is delivering wide economic benefits, supporting jobs, stimulating investment in hotels, airports, and transport networks, and strengthening cross-border cooperation.

As more international flights connect Africa’s major tourist hubs, the continent continues to expand its appeal with eco-friendly resorts, wildlife experiences, and diverse cultural offerings.

With the highest travel growth rate in the world for 2025, experts say Africa’s tourism sector is set to remain a key driver of economic development, sustainable employment, and improved living standards across the region.
