African foreign ministers will meet on Thursday at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa to look into security situations in Somalia and Sudan.
The 330th Ministerial Meeting of the Peace and Security Council will also seek ways of expediting the operations of the AU Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), which currently stands facing acute funding shortfall.
The PSC ministerial will be held at Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Political Affairs, Peace and Security Building on the spaciously lush premises of the African Union headquarters, information secured from the African Union Commission indicates.

The 8-nation Eastern Africa trading and security block, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the Arab League will take part in the meeting, which is also expected to examine security challenges on the continent and find solutions.
The ministerial is happening in the context of the 39th Summit of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government slated for coming Saturday and Sunday.
A preparatory meeting has got underway as African foreign ministers took up the summit agenda prepared earlier by the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC).
The African Union’s 2026 theme goes: “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation System to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.”
The summit is expected to be attended by leaders of international organizations including the Director General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, who will address the gathering.
