President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah hosted Duma Gideon Boko for a one-day working visit, reinforcing growing cooperation between the two countries.
The visit follows the recent Bi-National Commission, with both leaders committing to regular consultations to ensure effective implementation of agreements.
Key focus areas include trade promotion, infrastructure development, and natural resource management.
Discussions highlighted strategic projects such as the Trans-Kalahari Railway and the role of Walvis Bay in boosting regional trade and connectivity. The leaders also emphasized conservation efforts under the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area.

Namibia and Botswana share long-standing historical ties rooted in regional solidarity, cooperation during southern Africa’s liberation struggles, and sustained collaboration through the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
Since Namibia’s independence in 1990, both countries have deepened relations through trade, cross-border infrastructure, and joint development initiatives, including major conservation efforts such as the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area.

Amid rising global geopolitical tensions, both sides stressed closer regional cooperation guided by international law and peaceful dispute resolution. President Boko praised Namibia’s hospitality and reaffirmed Botswana’s commitment to deepening economic ties.
The visit marks a continued strengthening of Namibia–Botswana bilateral relations.
