During its chairship, Ethiopia will lead the Council’s deliberations on a range of key peace and security matters across the continent, covering both country-specific and thematic issues.

The chairship will formally commence with a flag-hoisting ceremony on April 7, 2026, marking the official welcome of the newly elected members of the African Union Peace and Security Council.
