Côte d’Ivoire and Angola have strengthened bilateral ties with the signing of new cooperation agreements across key sectors, marking a significant step in African economic collaboration.

The agreements span energy, mining, agriculture, health, education, industry, and transport, with both countries aiming to accelerate growth and economic transformation through closer partnership.

A key outcome is the planned launch of a direct flight between Abidjan and Luanda to boost connectivity, trade, and investment between West and Southern Africa.

Energy cooperation is central to the deal, with Angola set to share its expertise in hydrocarbons to support Côte d’Ivoire’s energy development and industrial expansion.

The partnership reflects a broader shift toward stronger intra-African cooperation and regional integration, as countries seek to unlock economic opportunities and reduce reliance on external partners.

On Monday (April 6, 2026) TAAG Angola Airlines launched direct flights between Luanda (LAD) and Abidjan (ABJ).

This route, utilizing Airbus A220-300 aircraft, operates three times weekly. The partnership, supported by an air services agreement signed in 2025, aims to improve connectivity, boost trade, and enhance technical cooperation.
