Algeria and Germany are seeking to deepen bilateral economic cooperation by expanding investment and partnerships across key strategic sectors.
The discussions took place during a working session chaired by Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf and his German counterpart Johann Wadephul, who is visiting Algeria with a significant economic delegation representing German companies.
The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and agreed on the need for concrete measures to strengthen economic cooperation, in line with the Joint Declaration on a Strategic Agenda for Bilateral Partnership adopted during the Algerian president’s visit to Germany.
Priority areas identified include energy, renewable energy, energy transition, industry, transport and pharmaceuticals, as well as investment opportunities in mining, technology and startups.
The two countries also agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation mechanisms, reinforce the legal framework and encourage greater engagement between their business communities.
The visit is also expected to help advance partnership agreements and contracts signed during the Algerian-German Economic Forum in July, while creating opportunities to launch new projects and attract further investment.
The latest engagement signals efforts by Algeria and Germany to give their economic partnership a stronger and more action-oriented direction.
